The visit to the Bundarra and Bingara areas by the National Rural Advisory Council this Wednesday will hopefully bring a positive result for farming families, according to The Nationals Senator for New South Wales John Williams. Senator Williams said three members of NRAC from Western Australia, Victoria and the Walcha district will be accompanied by an official from the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry. They will visit a property south of Bundarra at 8am and meet with a small group of landholders, and then will conduct a two hour meeting at the Bundarra School of Arts Hall. "Several producers will speak and give their insight into how the Bundarra area has continued to suffer since coming out of Exceptional Circumstances in March last year. The NRAC representatives will move on to a property near Bingara at lunchtime to meet with a small group of farmers, and then travel via Woodsreef and Gulf Creek back to Armidale in the afternoon. The farming families have waited many months for this day to arrive and I am hopeful that what the NRAC representatives see and hear will lead them to recommending Exceptional Circumstances relief for those who badly need it", Senator Williams said. |
