| The Nationals Deputy Leader in the Senate Fiona Nash and The Nationals Whip in the Senate John Williams will visit several centres in the Farrer electorate next week.
Senator Nash will address a breakfast meeting of NSW Farmers at Brocklesby on Tuesday morning where she will outline the fight against the import of beef products from BSE-affected countries, drought funding and wheat deregulation issues. During the day she will meet with Great Hume Council representatives at Holbrook and the Southern AgVenture Group in Lockhart, as well as conduct a street walk. On Tuesday evening Senators Nash and Williams will be the guest speakers at a dinner hosted by the Corowa Branch of The Nationals, and the following day will meet with the public and rice growers at a breakfast meeting in Jerilderie. Also on the itinerary for Wednesday is a visit to Uardry Sheep Station, luncheon and street walk in Hay and a visit to Shear Outback. Senator Nash said she expected plenty of questions on the Rudd Government's water buyback scheme, youth allowance and health, whilst Senator Williams said he is keen for feedback on banking issues and the Coalition's Direct Action Policy for the Environment, particularly the inclusion of soil carbon as a key component. The Senators will be joined for part of Wednesday's tour by The Nationals Member for Riverina Kay Hull MP, Member for Murray-Darling John Williams MP, and The Nationals Senate Candidate Joe Dennis.
