The Nationals Duty Senator for New England John Williams says The Nationals will be a force to be reckoned with at this year's Federal election in New England.

Senator Williams says the party's candidate Tim Coates of Tamworth is an outstanding choice and a man who has shown a willingness to be totally involved in the community.

He said Tim Coates is a business and sports leader who would make an excellent representative for New England residents.

"I see the upcoming Federal election as an obvious choice for New Englanders.

If they want another three years of Labor waste, mismanagement and policy back downs, they should vote for the Labor candidate or for the Independent.

But if they want a return to responsible economic management and confidence in the future of Australia, they should vote for Tim Coates which would be a step towards the return of a coalition government", Senator Williams said.
