The 50^th Grafton to Inverell Cycle Classic on Saturday the 23^rd of October was an event to be long remembered.

A record Australian field of over 540 riders in 7 competitive and 1 non-competitive event from Grafton and Glen Innes. Many previous winners returned to Inverell for the weekend including the first winner Alan Grindal of Victoria, and the man who directed the race for decades Jack Griffin now of Port Macquarie. Following a Saturday evening dinner attended by over 900 people, a commemorative plaque was unveiled on Sunday morning and pavers were engraved with winners names.
