ANZAC CARE PACKAGES FOR OUR TROOPS

Australians are again being asked to remember our troops who are currently serving overseas.

The Nationals Senator for New South Wales John Williams says as Anzac Day approaches, the nation’s thoughts will be for those who gave their lives to defend this land, but we should also be conscious of the role being played by Australian soldiers, sailors, airmen and airwomen who are currently serving abroad.

He said more than 3,000 Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel  are serving overseas in locations such as Afghanistan, East Timor and the Solomon Islands.

Senator Williams said just like the support shown at Christmas time, Australians can again send a care package free of charge through Australia Post.

“Australia Post will deliver packages under 2 kilos to our forces serving in the Middle East, including Afghanistan, as well as East Timor and the Solomon Islands.

Toiletries, books and non-perishable food are just some of the items that may be sent. Letters of support can be included as well as a stamped self addressed envelope so they can send a letter back to you.*

These personnel are carrying on the tradition of service for their country and I’m sure they would appreciate messages and packages from home”, Senator Williams said.

*A full list of suitable products and details of how and where to send the parcels are on Senator Williams website www.johnwilliams.com.au
