OAKESHOTT’S XMAS GIFT TO LYNE – A CARBON TAX

The Member for Lyne Rob Oakeshott has finally delivered for Lyne, but his constituents have marked it ‘return to sender’.

Today’s vote in the Senate to pass the carbon tax legislation is a victory for Mr. Oakeshott who with his Independent colleague Tony Windsor was a driving force in imposing this tax on Australian industries and jobs according to the Nationals Duty Senator for Lyne John Williams.

Senator Williams said the carbon tax will be Mr. Oakeshott’s lasting legacy that is unwanted by the electorate.

“He has not listened to the pensioners in Port Macquarie who don’t want the carbon tax.

He has not listened to the tradesmen in Taree who don’t want the carbon tax.

He has not listened to industry, retailers, farmers or families.

He has bought the Labor-Greens spin that the end is near unless yet another tax is introduced and that will solve everything.

Mr. Oakeshott has let you down”, Senator Williams said.
