The Nationals Duty Senator for New England John Williams has added his congratulations for the seven people in New England who have been named in the Australia Day honours list. Senator Williams says Dr. Graham Deane of Gunnedah has been awarded the AM (Member of the Order of Australia) and Mr. Maxwell Browning of Armidale, Mrs. Eve Chappell of Glen Innes, Mrs Shirley Davison of Walcha, Mrs. Joan Hausfeld of Tamworth and Mrs Frances Wallace and Mr. Lindsay Maybury of Quirindi have been awarded the OAM (Medal of the Order of Australia). He said each in their own way have contributed greatly to their communities, some in specific fields, and they should be proud of today's recognition. "It is what makes Australia a wonderful country and country towns a delight to live in. People who do the extra to help others. It is a special Australia Day for them and I hope they enjoy it with family and friends", Senator Williams said.
