Patients in Mullumbimby will soon feel the benefits of improved facilities at the Mullumbimby Medical Centre after it was selected for a Federal Government grant.
Senator for New South Wales John Williams today welcomed the announcement that the Medical Centre would receive a $300,000 grant.
The practice is one of 67 that were offered grants across the nation, with a total of $13.1 million allocated under the Government’s Rural General Practice Grants program.
“This grant will enable the Mullumbimby Medical Centre to significantly expand its current facility,” Senator Williams said.

HELPING THE HUNTER’S SMALL BUSINESSES GROW
SMALL businesses throughout the New South Wales Hunter Valley are set to grow and create even more jobs thanks to tax cuts and practical support from the Federal Government, Senator John Williams says.
“Small business is the engine room of our economy. It employs millions of Australians and is the backbone of our country towns like Muswellbrook and Cessnock,” Senator Williams said.
It is good news for the Ballina Bombers AFL Club with the announcement that a contract has been signed for the construction of new change room facilities.
In making the announcement today, the Nationals Duty Senator for Richmond John Williams says it delivers on a Nationals 2016 election commitment to provide $65,000 to the Club.
Senator Williams said the upgrade of the change rooms will include retrofitting the communal showers with cubicle screens, improving disabled access and facilities, replacing urinals with individual toilets, and upgrading the hot water system, lighting, storage, bench space and flooring.
Close to 38,000 people in the Richmond electorate will benefit from the one-off energy payment of up to $75 to help with energy costs.
The Nationals Duty Senator for Richmond John Williams said the Energy Assistance Payment will be provided to people on the Age Pension, Disability Support Pension and Parenting Payment Single as well as Veterans and their partners who receive the Service Pension, Income Support Supplement and relevant compensation payments.
Senator Williams said 37,701 people in Richmond will benefit from the measure with singles receiving $75 and each pensioner in a couple to receive $62.50.
Close to 33.000 people in the Hunter electorate will benefit from the one-off energy payment of up to $75 to help with energy costs.
