The Australian Government has made the first quarterly payment of $2.2 million to local councils in Richmond under the 2018-19 Financial Assistance Grant Program.
The Nationals Senator for New South Wales John Williams said Tweed Shire Council has received $1,311,268, Ballina Shire Council $563,865 and Byron Shire Council $395,986 in first quarterly payments.
Senator Williams said overall in 2018-19 Tweed Shire will receive $10.6 million in FAGS, Ballina Shire Council $4.4 million and Byron Shire Council $3.12 million.

The Australian Government has made the first quarterly payment of $4.75 million to local councils in Eden-Monaro under the 2018-19 Financial Assistance Grant Program.
The Nationals Senator for New South Wales John Williams said Snowy Monaro Regional Council has received $1.17 million, Bega Valley Shire Council $874,000, Eurobodalla Shire Council $860,000, Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council $752,000, Snowy Valleys Council $707,000 and Yass Valley Council $384,000 in the first quarterly FAGS.
Senator Williams said overall in 2018-19 Snowy Monaro Regional Council will receive $9.47 million in FAGS, Bega Valley Shire Council $7.03 million, Eurobodalla Shire Council $6.95 million, Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council $6.05 million, Snowy Valleys Council $5.62 million and Yass Valley Council $3.02 million.

The Australian Government has made the first quarterly payment of $3.3 million to local councils in Hunter under the 2018-19 Financial Assistance Grant Program.
The Nationals Senator for New South Wales John Williams said Lake Macquarie City Council has received $1.99 million, Cessnock City Council $888,000, Muswellbrook Shire Council $438,000 and Singleton Council $4,325 in first quarterly payments.
Senator Williams said overall in 2018-19 Lake Macquarie City Council will receive $16.2 million in FAGS, Cessnock City Council $7.19 million, Muswellbrook Shire Council $3.47 million and Singleton Council $1.84 million.
Community organisations are being invited to apply for a share of up to $20 million in funding to support the efforts of their volunteers.
The Nationals Senator for New South Wales John Williams said applications have opened for the Volunteer Grants and groups can apply for between $1,000 and $5,000.
Senator Williams said the funding will help community organisations buy equipment such as laptops, pay fuel costs, train volunteers and improve their fundraising.
He said volunteers are the lifeblood of communities and the Volunteer Grants are designed to ease their cost burden as they contribute to their organisation.
"In 2016, 2,690 groups around the nation benefited from this funding.

The Nationals Senator for New South Wales John Williams is encouraging local sporting groups in Richmond to apply for funding for a national $29.7million program aimed at upgrading community sport infrastructure.
The Community Sport Infrastructure grant program has been launched by Federal Sports Minister Senator Bridget McKenzie, enabling sport and community organisations to apply for grants up to $500,000 to upgrade sporting infrastructure in 2018-19.

Farmers in Eden-Monaro will benefit from Landcare Smart Farms Small Grant funding to adapt to change, innovate and become more sustainable.
The Nationals Senator for New South Wales John Williams said the Far South Coast Landcare Association has received a grant of $100,000 for Introducing EMS to Drive Practice Change for the Beef/Sheep industry in the Bega Valley.
Senator Williams said the grant will help the Far South Coast Landcare Association train Bega Valley beef and sheep farm land managers in the principles of environmental management systems and to mentor others in resource management practice change.
