VOLUNTEER GRANTS ANNOUNCED IN RICHMOND

Twenty four groups and individuals in a range of locations will share in just over $88,000 in volunteer grants that have been announced today.

The Nationals Duty Senator for Richmond John Williams said the grants of between $1,000 and $5,000 will enable community organisations to better support their volunteers through the purchase of equipment as well as providing training and transport.

Senator Williams said the following groups and individuals will receive funding –

Friends of the Circus Incorporated $4,775; Tweed District Rescue Squad $3,921; Steer Project Incorporated (Yelgun) $5,000; Tweed Valley

Communication Technology Centres $4,260; Northern Rivers Animal Services (Ballina) $4,800; Lennox Head Landcare $4,000; Blind and Vision Impaired Support Group (Murwillumbah) $3,860; Pottsville Beach Football Club $5,000; Ballina Coastcare Incorporated $3,000; U3A Brunswick Valley Incorporated $1,900; Burringbar Community Association $5,000; Coolangatta-Mount Warning Dragons Boat Club $2,649; Kingscliff Netball Club $4,090; Murwillumbah Community Centre $3,100; Tweed Netball Association $5,000; Australia Indonesia Arts Alliance (Byron Bay); Ballina Netball Association $2,500; Mullumbimby Agricultural Society $5,000; Shambhala United Network $4,500; Cabarita Community Garden $2,298; Cabarita Beach Bogangar Residents Association $1,780; S.E Queensland Vindicatrix and Mn Mariners Association (Tweed Heads) $2,500; Lynette Davidson $2,103 and Margaret Reid $4,800.
